An Open Letter #NoMention

No Mention-Transparent On Green Logo

This is an open letter. This might be the end of #NoMention (maaf masih dalam bahasa Inggris, nanti akan diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Sementara ini bisa pakai Google Translate.)

As it was first started, the idea of #NoMention was conceived as a private communication between me and another Twitter user. And from that occurrence I had developed an idea for a startup company, whilst our communication developed and I had an idea to record my experience to be retold in other art form: a novel, later on a movie, and also other art forms. At first I thought it was a great (REAL) story about two people connecting via social media/internet (making it a great storyline base for Happinette,) unbeknownst to me that I opened the Pandora box of my own personal passion in my own pursuit of happiness. On the surface it seems to be about my hard work on my startup; and maybe in parallel looking for a spouse; while underneath I am in a hunt of finding the true meaning of happiness. It was all real life experiences: no gimmick nor PR thingy whatsoever. You can check with me directly about the reality of things.

Some of you might know this story, experiencing it yourself on Twitter by observing, investigating, following, stalking,┬áinvestigating, discussing (gossiping!) or even interacting direct or indirect (#NoMention!) with me. In the process I might be crossing boundaries of decency, rub people the wrong way, woo people, flatter people, made people hate, made people love, etc that one might find abnormal and doesn’t match common values. I sincerely offer apology, in hope that through such interaction you and I can learn something. Live and learn.

It’s the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We’re always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something. ~Graham (Crash, 2004)

About the story to be retold, bear in mind that it was not about me per se, nor it is about my startup Happinette. It is about what I had experienced in my pursuit of happiness, and that was also obtained via interaction with people around me (on Twitter); friends or enemies, followers or stalkers, ordinary people or celebrities; thus they has an important role in conversation with the protagonist and also in their own related conversation in their own domain, thus is an integral part of the story, creating one large narration about soul searching, spouse looking and pursuit of happiness. Remember that there is no judgement whatsoever about who is wrong nor who is right according to whom. Things are just what they are.

This open letter signifies an end of an era, a death to #NoMention if you will, because personally I will MOVE ON to real interaction with real people. So let’s take this relationship to the next level, get to know each other better (out of Twitter!) and really extending to the virtual relationship in Twitter we experienced and imagined, spreading value of happiness on real life basis. And by next level I do mean professional and personal: platonic and (who knows) romantic ones. I also need to focus to build and launch my startup Happinette, for that was the thing that triggered all of these.
