Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 (Movie Review)

I went to watch the new James Bond movie Skyfall last Thursday, and it was under my expectation. Then I watched this ‘The Story behind 007’ kinda movie titled “Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007,” I might change my review of Skyfall. Test Pack: Movie Review

Continue reading “Test Pack: Movie Review”

Anomalisa by Charlie Kaufman & Dan Harmon

Two of my current favorite filmmakers are collaborating. Charlie Kaufman (writer; Being John Malkovitch, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind) and Dan Harmon (creator; Community on NBC) are working together for a stop-motion claymation titled “Anomalisa” produced by Starburns Industries, Inc. (get where the name comes from?) What is unique that this is a Kickstarter project because the filemmakers want the movie to be independent from Hollywood movie industry so it will have creative and production integrity.

Follow Anomalisa on Twitter or back the project (BTW It’s already surpassed $200,000 goal.)

Wake Up Young Man, Your Love Affair Has Got To Go

Wake up young man, it’s time to wake up. Your love affair has got to go.

Wake Up
~ Mad Season, 1995

That was a snippet from song’s lyrics by Mad Season, a grunge supergroup in the 90s, and the first sentence rings true.

Sure it has been a wild ride for me and everybody’s involved; directly or indirectly; with me and what I have been experiencing in this last 2 years. Gosh, it’s been a long time ago since I started experiencing this wonderful phenomenon. Maybe you would like to be refreshed. Continue reading “Wake Up Young Man, Your Love Affair Has Got To Go”

The Raid, Rad Review

There is unprecedented 160,000 something audience over last weekend went to see The Raid, in Indonesia alone. I have been holding so long not going to see it (due to work) so that day work bites the dust, I went to see The Raid catching afternoon show at PIM 1 XXI.

With no holds barred, the action gets right to it withing 10 minutes of the movie. There was only short intro of Rama (Iko Uwais) the main protagonist must leave his pregnant wife for a tour of duty. Then cut to the SWAT team truck, the scene where his commander Jaka (Joe Taslim) give a brief to the team, in short giving the audience what is the main plot.

The location of The Raid itself is within a 30 floor building owned by a sadistic crime-lord Tama (Ray Sahetapy,) so sadistic that cut-to-cut camera works shows early on that he executed someone with a hammer for he was out of bullets. In-your-face sadistic execution lays out upfront that it was an ultra-violent movie. Continue reading “The Raid, Rad Review”
